8. Woke up a bit slow, but built momentum very quickly.

Gym was good, run club was superb. Did roughly 4 miles, the first 1.5 at the fastest pace I've ran in years! Got about 3 hours of positive socialization in, before heading home, crushing a nap, running through my morning routine, taking a personality test, and working on law stuff! Feeling really appreciative of the crew and am loving the accountability checks. Also, I heard back from my favorite app developer, so I might be able to work on my gym app to make it even better!

Fantastic day; was very productive throughout. Finished cooking around 5 and , rather than just screwing around the apartment, went to a board game meetup! It wasn't great socialization, but my evening was significantly better than if I had stuck around the apartment. I left early in order to knock out my evening routine and am still on track to hit the hay at a reasonable time!

8. Good gym session, then spent the morning with run club cheering on gritty people running a half marathon. I've got a call schedule with Naomi later and lots of small tasks to do around the apartment.

I'm very proud of revising my budget today. I have been tracking consistently on every other day, but this is the first Sunday where I have accomplished what I outlined as the minimums for YNAB Sundays.

8. Woke up at 2AM wide awake. Proactively locked my phone for 30 minutes. Was in and out sleep until 4 am but woke up feeling very well rested.

Gym was fantastic; I met three of the regulars! Only a few left! Getting a bit of a late start at work, but I have a lot of fulfilling tasks today and am looking forward to beginning them. I feel like we're in a scrum, making sure everyone can find their footing even when they slip.

Where did I go right this week?
Putting law school application work in the middle of the day.
Scheduling regular social interaction, both in person and over the phone.
Proactively blocking my phone during low willpower periods.
Putting things "away" rather than just "down."

How can I apply this to the coming week?
Continue to knock out law school stuff in the middle of my day.
I have already planned at least two social outings this coming weekend, and am coordinating with people to build in more regular ones.
When completing tasks around the apartment, make sure to clean up completely afterward.

Where did I come up short this week?
Diet and routine went off the rails while at the house.
Put off law school stuff toward the end of the day.

How will I prevent this in the coming week? (note, there must be a strategy in play "I just won't do it again" or similar answers do not count)
I have outlined a minimum bodyweight workout that I can do anywhere, which will allow me to check the gym box, signalling to me that my day has actually started.
Afternoon law school check-ins have been requested and have helped significantly.

What obstacles will I be facing next week?
- People: interruptions throughout the day where I become complicit and engage, rather than focusing on the task at hand.  Work lunches with visitors all week.
- Events:  D&D on Sunday afternoon
- Scheduling Conflicts: None at the moment
- Deadlines: a search report discussion on Wednesday, and a patent application on Friday.
- Personal: wanting to skip meditation because I already feel great in the morning.

What do I plan on doing to address the obstacles?
I have been locking my phone or keeping it face down for extended durations, and will be increasing the length of those.  I have already been to one lunch and ate keto.  The coworker planning them is attentive to my diet, which makes things easier.  I have to attend a lunch meeting and I will attend a second team lunch on Thursday and do the same.  In each case, a have a late breakfast of half a keto shake about an hour before the meal which tanks my appetite, making it much easier to resist temptation.
I always bring keto snacks to D&D so I don't have to resist.
Both the report and application are coming along smoothly; I am getting better about reaching substantial completion on a stage, getting feedback, and moving forward.
I make sure to start my morning routine each day, which starts easily enough, but includes meditation. I hate lying, even if it's a checkmark on an app.

When are partner phone calls this week?
Peyton: 0630 Friday
Gethen: TBD

8. Slept well and my app agrees!

Gym was good. I did erg sprints and lots of stretching. L-sits and myotatic crunches have made dragon flags significantly easier, but I'm still doing negatives. Ready for the day!

9. Woke up briefly, then slept like the dead.

Gym was great, met another member! I'm slowly but surely getting to know everyone. Revised my shower/hygiene routine and shaved down an extra few minutes! It's going to be a good day.

9. Great sleep! I have added a few minor things to my Sunday prep routine, including replacing my earplugs in both my work case and at my bedside, regardless of wear. The marginal cost of a few earplugs is more than offset by how much better I sleep and focus with fresh ones! Similarly with batteries for noise canceling headphones (rechargeable) and other minor contributing factors to momentum.

Workout took a little longer than expected, due to having conversations with a few gym bros. Definitely a good experience. It seems that everyone at my gym in the mornings is an engineer or in tech! As I get to know more of them I'm also noticing that they're getting to know each other as well. It's becoming quite a little morning community!

8 (feeling), but my app is saying it was more of a 5-6. Will be curious how I feel a bit later in the day.

Gym was fantastic! New DL PR, got to chat with some of the morning crew, and had a marvelous stretch session. I have a well-chunked morning, and then a handful of calls in the afternoon.

5. I didn't wake up feeling groggy, just not well rested. I got 8.6 hours, and my app says that almost 5 of those were deep sleep, but I don't feel it. This is the third night of unusually poor sleep even though factors/behaviors contributing to sleep hygiene appear to be solid.

Gym was good, saw my people. Meditated for the first time in 3 days. Looking forward to lunch with a co-worker and getting some feedback from the main office.

Where did I go right this week?

Gym was solid, law school applications were generally accomplished. In general, stacking important stuff in the morning works wonderfully for me. Positive socialization on Saturday was also really good. Staying out of the apartment for extended periods of time was good.

How can I apply this to the coming week?
Continue to stack important stuff in the morning after my morning routine and keep the momentum going. This means I probably shouldn't schedule meetings in the morning but, when I schedule afternoon meetings, they tend to get bumped by other attendees. Law stuff around lunch is an excellent routine.

Where did I come up short this week?

Still overeating a bit. Even though I meal prepped, I haven't been particularly diligent on amounts of cream or coconut oil in coffee or shakes.
Unstructured Sunday was rough. Was building momentum through lunch, but once I downshifted from "this needs to be done" to "this would be nice if it were done," I just faffed about until bedtime.
Checking my phone too much during work.

How will I prevent this in the coming week? (note, there must be a strategy in play "I just won't do it again" or similar answers do not count)

Morning coffee at home is getting measured additions, coffee/tea outside of the home will be taken straight. Saturday brunch will consist of coffee. Will be meal prepping Tuesday evening.
Structure both Saturday and Sunday, and post that schedule/tasks to DT to aid partners and keep tasks in "need to do" mode.
AppBlocker is on, which kills notifications, but I am also running a pomodoro-style lock now.

What obstacles will I be facing next week?
- People
Visitors from the main office will be mucking about. Only lunch today should be required of me, but they may want to stop in to chat.

- Events
Office chili cookoff on Wednesday

- Scheduling Conflicts
UT Law Tour on Friday during work hours.

- Deadlines
I have a search deadline on the 31st.

- Personal
Not structuring my time during work hours is leading to decreased performance

What do I plan on doing to address the obstacles?
Keep my noise-blocking setup running as usual, eat keto at lunch.
I'm bringing keto chili to the cookoff so I will have options regardless of what else is there.
I will be shortening my workout on Friday to squeeze a bit more work hour in to offset the time spent.
I have a search discussion set up for today to complete the search (pending decision of the assigning attorney).
Structure my workdays into time blocks. Today (Monday) is set up well, but there is too much unallocated time on subsequent days.

When are partner phone calls this week?
Peyton: 0630 CST Friday
Gethen: TBD
