Day 2/42
1. Keto: yes
2. Morning Routine: yes
3. Evening Routine: yes
4. YNAB: yes
5. Law School Application: yes (THIS FELT AMAZING)
Check in with Gethen:  yes
Check in with Peyton: yes

One positive thing that happened today: One of my assigning attorneys bumped a meeting with me by 40 minutes without telling me (on a client call, not great, but understandable).  I stayed on work tasks for about half of that, then made sure all my time and projects were updated, and made ready to head home.  Right as I was about to log off, he calls and lets me know we only have about 30 minutes, which was too short to do out scheduled project.  I had another project that I was able to pivot to and was able to do a really good job walking him through it in the limited time.  Good thing he called in time! It resulted in a) more billable hours for me, b) boost to momentum right before going home, and c) less unstructured free time for me to waste!

I'm really proud of sticking with the law school application stuff today.  It was mostly FAFSA and application questionnaires, but it's still more done than I have in the past few weeks.

8. Great, solid sleep, but was awakened in the middle of a cycle and had to fight off sleep inertia for a bit.

CW is 213.6. Gym was lovely and more coworkers are in the office. I have a phone call scheduled with a friend this evening to increase human voice contact.

3. Evening Routine: yes
4. YNAB: yes
5. Law School Application: no
Check in with Gethen: yes, expecting feedback soon

I would like to improve my scheduling tomorrow. I did really well adapting at work to changing schedules, but kept killing law school stuff toward the end of the day. I have the flexibility at work to knock out 45 minutes easily in the middle of the day and am looking forward to experimenting with that.

8. Only got a little over 7 hours of sleep, but was woken up riiight as I was coming out of a cycle and it felt great!

CW is 214.6. Gym was wonderful, and there were even more new faces this morning! Quads and abs are dying in the best way, and my flexibility is improving. Excited for the various projects I get to work on today, as well as the law school stuff I'll be knocking out in the middle of the day.

Day 4/42
1. Keto: yes

5. Law School Application: YESSSS
Check in with Gethen:  Yes!
Check in with Peyton: yes

One small thing I am proud of having done today was submitting my timers before leaving work. Since starting electrical work I have not made an effort to document my day's work on the day it happens. In electrical work, it meant sitting around for 15 minutes shooting the breeze and guessing about conduit lengths. Now it's 90 minutes of sifting through e-mails. I'm proud that I'm staying caught up so I won't have to do any of that next Tuesday.

Putting law school stuff in the middle of the day is not only a fantastic way of breaking up the workday, but also a huge boost for the evening. I'm no longer dreading heading home and worrying about doing what I need to. By this afternoon, the only remaining list objective is essentially sleep! It made for a much more enjoyable afternoon/evening at work. Plus, no one calls during lunch hours so it's a good chunk of creative time.

5. Did some breathing exercises around 7:45 and slept wonderfully between 8 and midnight. Fell asleep again around 12:30 but had poor rest until my alarm went off.

CW: 213.4. Gym was great and this morning is moving steadily along. Feeling good, but will be paying attention to mood and willpower throughout the day, given my sleep quality.

6. Felt like an 8 upon waking up, but my energy levels are super low.

CW: 212.6. Gym was good and I knocked out a bit of laundry this morning, so I'll have plenty of gym clothes this weekend at Las Brisas.

Day 6/42
1. Keto: Yes
2. Morning Routine: Yes
3. Evening Routine: No (forgot my glasses, everything else was fine)
4. YNAB: Yes
5. Law School Application: Yes
Check in with Gethen:  Yes
Check in with Peyton: Yes

I am really proud of myself for my ability to reach "good enough" on aspects of my project, substantially moving everything to a point at which my assigning attorney can review it, rather than trying to perfect it, and spiraling under stress (legal cutoff is Monday by 5PM EST).

One thing I will improve is packing for overnights. I pushed it off until today, as opposed to last night, and ended up forgetting something. Either I make a list and pack everything but the in use items the night before, or I make a list and pack the day of. Either way, I would have benefited from a list.

8. Great sleep, which was surprising at Las Brisas.

Woke up earlier than my alarm and scored some bonus gym time! This morning, and now afternoon, are going well! Going to running club was fantastic.

6. In my own bed after my evening routine felt fantastic, but I was dehydrated and only got about 6 hours.

I'M BACK. Still not 100% due to sleep, but gym was great and we're all getting a bit more social there. Expecting carb cravings to rear their ugly heads today and tomorrow.

Re: Sorenson Cycle 2

For week 1

Where did I go right this week?
Routines and work were very solid, as well as reaching out to partners both to check in and request help.

How can I apply this to the coming week?
Continue to keep frequent contact with partners, as well as maintaining solid sleep.

Where did I come up short this week?
Did not reach out more frequently at the house.
Gave myself license to continue consuming carbs in excess, both in volume and duration, beyond any legitimate justification.
Did not have a structure in place to address mornings without a gym session.
Even when eating was good, portions were still not addressed.

How will I prevent this in the coming week?
If I am not sleeping at my apartment (e.g. business trips/las brisas/Belton/etc.), increase frequency of sending status updates to partners, which will address the first two, as licensing stops once it is publicly acknowledged.
Put together a bare minimum bodyweight routine to ensure that the gym box can always be checked and keep my momentum going.
Meal Prep.

What obstacles will I be facing next week?
- People
May be having a friend in town this weekend, which will increase temptation to not stick to routines.

- Events
All events tentatively schedule are active and don't revolve around eating or drinking.

- Scheduling Conflicts
None

- Deadlines
Monday was a deadline for an application and that definitely contributed some to the eating.  One response deadline is today, but the work is already done.

- Personal
Getting back into ketosis yesterday and today.  Yesterday wasn't as bad as expected, and I'm hoping today is similar.

What do I plan on doing to address the obstacles?
I have proactively scheduled several positive activities as discussed above to keep us out and about, as well as tired enough to get sleep.
I am in frequent contact with partners regarding cravings and chewing a lot of gum.

When are partner phone calls this week?
Peyton: Friday, 7AM CST
Gethen: Friday, TBD

I would like to improve on my scheduling of the law school stuff tomorrow. I had success last week putting it around lunch time, so I had scheduled a lunch time check with Gethen to continue that, with the option of a plan if I hadn't already completed it. I stayed productive all day, but leaving this task til the end of the day, particularly when it will interfere with sleep, is simply planning to fail.

8. Getting back into having good sleep, but I still need to really seal up my windows and see what noises happen around 1-2AM.

Gym was fantastic and everyone is being more social. Deadlift exploded this morning! At work and on track for a solid day. Law school stuff at lunchtime, then more work, call with Gethen at 3PM CST, more work, then meal prep and sleep! Tomorrow I will be going to the run club, so more positive socialization!
