Pre-Cycle Writeup (POST HERE)

Please answer the following in a post on this thread:

Identify holidays or vacations fall within your cycle and make a plan for how you will address them.

What challenges did you face last cycle? How will you be addressing those this cycle?

What two times would you like to be contacted during the day?

What will I do to make sure that I post? Do I have a specific time or event that I can attach posting to?

Have I downloaded the mobile forum app? (there is only a single acceptable answer to this one - YES)

I was inconsistent with working out and did not appreciate how much time that I had committed in the day. I also did not post regularly. I have addressed posting by attaching it to a morning routine. I have addressed by schedule by creating a complete weekly schedule with built in wiggle room. I have reduced the size of my workouts to make them manageable.

What two times would you like to be contacted during the day?
Afternoons are evenings are best. Around 13:00CST and 19:00CST.

What will I do to make sure that I post? Do I have a specific time or event that I can attach posting to?
I have attached posting to morning and evening routines.

New Orleans- I'll be making a checklist of foods I definitely want to eat, and aside from those, my rules will be to eat at least one vegetable with every lunch and dinner, and no extra bread with meals. No restrictions on drinking, since I tend to self-regulate pretty well.
Concert with Beth- nothing changes. Slow carb/keto if we go out to dinner, red wine or straight liquor if I drink.

What challenges did you face last cycle? How will you be addressing those this cycle?
-Christmas break, and letting it completely destroy my routine while I was away from home- actually create a defined routine so I am able to take it with me when I leave home.
-Putting off meditation- scheduling it as part of my morning routine.
-Missing gratitude and reframing- scheduling it at same time meditation in the morning, and scheduling mental reframing sessions throughout my day, so that I make sure I have things to reframe.

What two times would you like to be contacted during the day?
-I think best would be mid morning, around 9:00-10:00, and late afternoon, around 17:00 (both CST).

What will I do to make sure that I post? Do I have a specific time or event that I can attach posting to?
-I'm going to make morning and evening routine checklists a la Peyton with the same app and include posting.

-Not yet, haven't been able to find it in the app store. TBD, Peyt also looking for it.

I will be house-sitting Las Brisas at least once (MLK weekend), and will also be travelling to Milwaukee/Chicago sometime in February. The former will not affect my ability to accomplish my goals, but will require diligence at making sure I have keto foods available. I did well with my previous business trip and will repeat that preparation, which including researching the hotel gym facilities, the menu of any known meal events, and bringing quest bars/buying hardboiled eggs. With regards to business drinking, I am allowing myself a single evening, preferably a Friday night, as long as I am tracking all my drinks. Additionally, I am planning for one keto off-day in late January. Having structured meals will be important in that, as well as broth prep for the day or two after.

What challenges did you face last cycle? How will you be addressing those this cycle?

Holidays and socialization were the most significant challenges. Being proactive with how I have been scheduling my social events and being firm with my bedtime has helped tremendously. With regards to holidays, make sure I have foods available.

11AM and 3PM are definitely my weakest times during the day.

My posting is rolled into my morning and evening routines. It occurs at the end of each. I tend to complete my morning routine between 7AM and 8 AM, and my evening routine between 7PM and 8PM.

I think I only have 1 trip planned over the next 6 week cycle and that is to Houston somewhere 8-12th February (exact dates not yet finalized)
I think diet, hydration and vitamins shouldn’t be a problem while at Claire and Peyton’s apartment. I expect to train jiu jitsu at least once with Peyt and will be bringing a gi with me to train. I don’t see this trip being much of a challenge in terms of keeping on track and am of course looking forward to seeing Claire and Peyt and watching Peyton’s first tournament rolls.

I think people’s common theme was Christmas and NYs often make maintaining a schedule and diet challenging and I definitely found that to be the case spending Christmas and NYs at Annaliese’s parents house. I have vowed not to let Christmas or New Years happen in the next 6 weeks and so far I like my chances based of historical evidence...I think my biggest challenge has been failing to prepare things in advance both to save time and to help me stay on track if my days shifts or plans change. My diet and prep for Poker is extremely solid I just need to make sure my plan and prep is as solid for work at home where the distractions are greater and the food isn’t cooked for me. Meal planning is something I am going to experiment with (setting preplanned and some pre prepared meals for the days I am working from home)
The large refillable water jug for example has completely solved my hydration issues and saves money on buying water bottles so will be looking for more set ups like that to streamline my day. My 2nd challenge I faced in cycle 1 was injury so I am shifting my gym time towards building the most durable and injury free body I can. This means additional stretching and core work. And focusing on strengthening and managing any areas of injury I might have from BJJ.

2:30pm 7pm Texas time

Still putting together my weekly schedule so don’t have exact times set yet but morning will be while I am eating breakfast and evening
post will be right after I eat dinner on work from home days and right when I get home from casino on Poker days)
I am going to try the negative charitable giving technique (every post I miss I will pay 5 dollars the absolute worst organizing I can think of)
Charity suggestions welcome but leaning towards American Nazi Party right now
